Michael D. Horlick:

 

Mike was born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1946. His career in the field of tax law began with a summer internship in the Trust Department at the National Bank of Detroit.  Upon graduation from Michigan State University in 1968 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics, he began working for Ernst & Ernst Accounting Firm in the Tax Department.

After living and working in downtown Detroit during the riots, Mike and his wife Mary decided it was time to look for greener pastures.  They moved south to Williamsburg, Virginia, where Mike earned his JD from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary in 1973.  During law school, Mike received the Seidman &Seidman Gold Key Award in Taxation, was the Notes Editor of the Law Review, and was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa Honorary and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.

Upon graduation they moved to Rocky River, Ohio.  Mike practiced with Calfee Halter & Griswold in downtown Cleveland for seven years, first as a tax associate and later as a partner of the firm.  Those long winters convinced them to head south once again, and they settled in Venice in the spring of 1980 with their two sons, David and Michael.

Mike was admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio in 1973, the U.S. Tax Court in 1976, the State of Florida in 1980, the U.S. Supreme Court in 1980, and the U.S. Court of Appeals - 6th Circuit in 1989.  He is currently a member of the American Bar Association, The Florida Bar, and the Sarasota County Bar.  He is an AV rated lawyer and is Board Certified in Tax Law by the Florida Bar. He serves on the Estate and Gift Tax Law and the Charitable Organizations and Philanthropic Planning Committees of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar.

Mike's community service has included membership on the Board of Directors of Loveland School, serving as President of the Parish Council of Epiphany Cathedral, service as a Member of the Planning Commission of the City of Venice, Member of the Board of Directors of the Pine View School Foundation, and Treasurer and Board Member of Mission Valley Golf Club.  He is currently President of the Advisory Board of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Retreat & Spirituality Center Foundation. Mike is also active in the Subchapter S Corporation Committee of the American Bar Association, and the Probate Section of the Sarasota County Bar Association. He also renders pro bono legal services through Legal Aid of Manasota, Inc.

   

C. Kelley Corbridge:

 

C. KELLEY CORBRIDGE, was born Rockford, Illinois and moved to Florida in 1976. He graduated from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C. in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida College of Law in 1981.

Kelley was admitted to the Florida Bar, 1981 and joined the trust department of the First National Bank of Venice (subsequently SunTrust Bank), where he spent 21 years, becoming Senior Vice President and Senior Trust Officer, managing trust administration, operations and real estate for the Gulf Coast region. He maintains his designation as a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor from the American Bankers Association and is a graduate of the National Graduate Trust School.

Kelley left the bank for private law practice in the area of estate and tax planning and estate and trust administration in 2002. He obtained his designation from the Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education as Board Certified in Wills, Trusts and Estates in 2008. He has also received an AV Preeminent peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Kelley has been an active member of the community and the profession as a member of: the Florida Bar; Sarasota Bar Estate Planning Section; the Venice-Englewood division of the Florida Bar; Southwest Florida Estate Planning Council; he is a past Chairman of several local charities, including the Board of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, Inc., Take Stock in Children of Sarasota County, Inc., All Faiths Food Bank Foundation, Inc. and All Faiths Food Bank Foundation; and is also a board member of South County Family YMCA Foundation, Inc. Kelley and his wife Gina have been married since 1986.
